Doin' an OK Job, or ???

Well, I haven't posted in a really long time, but I have a good excuse, I swear (see the above link).

While I never expected to be responsible for putting together a game show, or moreover, a gameshow based on sweepstakes legal, I have spent the last 12 weeks of my life being the Exec in Charge at Endemol of a new interactive television show that has been on TBS for the last 6 weeks, called "Midnight Money Madness."

It's been a huge challenge - and one that... well, there's not been a whole lot of time to reflect on the good in the experience, but now, I'm finally getting a bit of time to think it through, get the experience put-together in my head and try to assess how it's gone.

In the next couple of days, the network, TBS, will let us know if they're picking up the show or not.

It's had it's share of controversy and while I'm not personally a fan of some parts of the show, the show is a lot bigger than just me, and so it goes in our business.

At the end of the day, it's the first live show I've ever done, and it's been a very, very interesting ride. In particular, discovering, reacting to, responding to, and then learning to enjoy the fact that TBS decided to put up "fan forums" for the show, which provided our audience with an immediate place to complain (which many did) and really bash us pretty hard - and then eventually to watch the audience come around, and really become fans.

That part has been a really interesting journey. But, did we do a good job... yeah, I think so.

Next? (Kidding, I already know what's next, another half dozen projects at Endemol..)
